Hand crafted, specialty beer, microbreweries, NM, Casa Escondida B&B

Hand-crafted, specialty beers abound in northern NM. The abundance of New Mexico microbreweries is sure to quench the thirst of any Casa Escondida Bed & Breakfast guest. Casa Escondida Bed & Breakfast is a Santa Fe area B&B that is located in historic Chimayo, NM (just 35 minutes north of Santa Fe, on the High Road to Taos). We are surrounded by some of the best breweries in northern New Mexico. Not to be outdone by the New Mexico wineries, brew pubs and tap rooms are on the rise. The New Mexico Brewers Guild is touting the fact that there will be nearly 30 microbreweries within New Mexico by years end. Many of the breweries now host beer events such as the annual beer festival, Septemberfest, beer release parties, tastings, brewery tours, beer dinners and more. As a matter of fact, on September 29th, 2012, you can enjoy the Pajarito Mountain Fall Beer Festival in Los Alamos, NM.  Even the Benedictine monks at the Christ in the Desert Monastery have started brewing craft beer. Try some of their Monks Ale or Monks Wit. Here is just a partial list of some of the breweries in our area: Marble Brewery Tap Room, Abbey Beverage Company, Blue Corn CafĂ© & Brewery, Blue Heron Brewing Company (a personal favorite), Eske's Brew Pub, Santa Fe Brewing Company and the Second Street Brewery. Looking for something tasty, new and fun to do during your Santa Fe daytrip, while a guest at Casa Escondida Bed & Breakfast? Be at the Santa Fe Brewing Company at noon on Saturdays for their “Small Batch Saturday” event. You will get a brewery tour and at the conclusion, they will tap and taste an experimental batch of beer. This is how some of their bestselling beers were developed! Casa Escondida Bed & Breakfast is happy to assist you in planning your self-guided brewery tour. We have wonderful rooms available and an extra refrigerator to keep your beer cold!
